Frequently Asked Questions
  1.  Do I need to know how to paddle board to participate?   
    No, we offer beginner-friendly adventures with instruction and equipment provided.

  2.  Do I need to know how to swim to participate?  
    No, we require you to wear a personal flotation device (lifejacket) throughout the duration of the tour, which will keep you afloat in the event you fall off the board into the water.

  3.  I know how to swim, do I have to wear a lifejacket?  
    Yes, all participants are required to wear a lifejacket while participating in our adventures. It's best practice to wear a personal floatation device not only our policy to satisfy the lawyers and insurance company but it's also best practice for all paddling activities. We thank you for understanding.

  4. Is there an age or weight limit?   
    Yes, the maximum weight limit for SUP boards is 275 lbs. Minimum weight is 50 lbs for personal flotation devices for children. This adventure is most appropriate for ages 13+ with a participating adult. Children under the age of 13 may be required to share a paddle board and ride with an adult depending on height and coordination. Please contact us directly with any questions or concerns.

  5.  What is the cost if I have and use my own equipment?  
    In some circumstances, we will allow individuals that have their own equipment to join our tours. If appropriate to allow other watercrafts to join in on the adventure, the cost will be half the price. Please contact us directly to find out more.  

  6. What is your refund/cancellation policy? 
    Cancellation requests received more than 48 hours in advance receive a full refund. Cancellation requests between 48-24 hours in advance will receive a 75% refund. Cancellation requests within 24 hours of the tour start time will not receive a refund. Sunshine’s Adventures reserves the right to cancel a tour at any time due to severe weather, low enrollment or other concerns. In the event of a cancellation, a rescheduled tour date will be offered. In the event you cannot attend the rescheduled tour, a full refund will be issued. If the tour is canceled at the discretion of the guide after 1 full hour of the start time; the tour is considered to be complete with no refund and/or reschedule offered. If the cancellation occurs less than 1 hour into the tour, a reschedule date and/or refund will be available. Thank you for your courtesy and understanding with this policy.

  7. What are you doing to address and prevent the spread of COVID-19?
    Effective June 2020: All equipment is disinfected to industry standards prior to use. You will have your own disinfected equipment to use during the tour and will not share it with others. We only operate outdoors. We encourage physical distancing of 6 ft during the safety briefing and throughout the tour. We will not provide any transportation - you will meet us at the location. Guides will complete temperature checks before each tour. Guides will wear a face covering when coming in close proximity to offer instruction or assistance on the water. All waivers must be completed online prior to arrival which includes COVID-19 questions. We ask that you use good personal judgment and not attend if you are experiencing any symptoms. We also reserve the right to refuse participation if COVID-19 exposure or symptoms are exhibited/observed. We will offer refunds or credits on future tours to prevent the spread of COVID-19. ​​
